In Rome the weather continued to be Melbourne-like. Something about 4 seasons in the one day. Everyone wearing scarves and raincoats, with several Signoras seen sporting furs. What very strange weather. In Capri, a woman told me she'd been coming there for 50 years (although she looked not a day over 50) and had never before needed a warm scarf and waterproof jacket. Always ready for the next down pour, 2 telletubbies were seen in the unusually empty main Piazza of Capri! We heard yesterday from our taxi driver in Napoli that continuing construction work for the new underground Metro in the city caused a building to collapse. (Not confirmed.)
