Dinner in Trani
The port of Trani is the best place to be on a warm evening. Dinner by the bay. A short walk up to the historic cathedral, Basilica Cattedrale di Trani, perched on top of the hill, overlooking the Adriatic sea. Big boats and small fisherman boats. Fresh seafood.

Matera, sassi, ancient cave dwellings
Matera, just outside Puglia in Basilicata, is the site of the ancient and unusual cave dwellings. This "town" has been continually inhabited for thousands of years.
Here you can see a photo of Coniugi Vizzietta-Lapolla, the last family that lived in this House-cave, 50 years ago. THe family and animals all lived together in the one room.
The loom taking pride of place.
Inside the Cathedral, mostly now inside renovated in Baroque style. The Cathedral Maria SS della Bruna e Sant'Eustachio

The Grottoes of Castellana, Puglia
These grottoes of the town Castellana in Puglia, Italy were discovered in 1938 by Prof Franco Anelli. We took the long itinerary (3 km) which took about 2 hours, and we reached the magnificent "white cave". A wonderous trip indeed!
